It can take a long time for Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) applications to be processed, so Engineers Australia has created a Fast Track Assessment process. Normally, this would take 4 to 7 months, but with the Fast Track Assessment, your application will be granted to an assessor or case officer for preparation within 15 days.
If you are an engineering professional who has migrated to Australia and is looking to boost your job prospects, you may be eligible for a free, expedited skills assessment. This could help meet a critical talent shortage in the country if you possess engineering qualifications or skills and have a permanent family visa, partner visa, refugee visa, or humanitarian visa.
Free Skills Assessment Opportunities for onshore migrants (2022)
The Australian Government has created ‘Incentive 2 – Skills Assessment Opportunities for Migrants’ to aid with the economic recovery of Australia from the effects of COVID-19, as well as to alleviate skills shortages. This incentive is available to migrants in Australia who possess a permanent family, partner, refugee, or humanitarian visa, and have the qualifications, skills, and/or experience in a priority occupation but have not yet had a skills assessment.
Migrants with skills in priority occupations that are not formally recognized can take advantage of the incentive program by receiving a free, quick evaluation of their skills. Those who receive a favorable assessment outcome may be able to find better employment opportunities, thanks to increased trust from employers that they possess the capabilities required to work in Australia.

Why Fast Track Skill Assessment?
Applying for a fast-track migration skills assessment strategy is a great way to cut down on the length of time that is typically necessary for normal assessment which takes an average of four to six months. With a fast-track process, it is possible to receive a skills assessment result in as little as two to three weeks. This is a great benefit for those who are looking to reduce their waiting and processing times. Additionally, due to the changing and increasingly stringent regulations regarding migration in Australia, taking advantage of this fast-track option is becoming increasingly important.
